can my homeschooler traveler without an adult?
No, all children (17 and younger) must be accompanied by an adult.
THIS IS MY FIRST TIME TRAVELING WITH A GROUP, WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE?
Traveling with a group is a unique experience. We understand the importance of bringing the group together to ensure a wonderful experience for all travelers.

Yes, an extension add-on option is available for our of our programs. If the extension is not quite what you are looking for, email us at brandi@theansweristravel.com and we can discuss options!
Are dietary requests able to be accomodated?
We do our best to accommodate all dietary requests. When registering, please indicate specials request in the additional information box.
CAN THE ITINERARY CHANGE?
Modifications during the program may be needed to ensure we are providing the best experience for our travelers. See our terms and conditions for more details
CAN THE PRICE CHANGE?
In the rare chance that we are unable to meet the minimum traveler required to run the program, a fee may be charged to offset cost. We have never had to increase pricing due to not meeting minimum number of travelers. See terms and conditions for full details.
what happens if you do not meet the minimum number of travelers to run a program?
We do our very best to ensure we have the minimum number of travelers needed to run a program; in the rare situation where a program must be postponed due to not meeting the minimum number of travelers needed to run program, we will offer the following:
-reschedule program to a future date, at no additional cost to those registered on original program date
-offer a private experience tailored to your homeschooling families requests
-a full refund will be provided upon if the above does not work for your family.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?
ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE
Cancellations received between the day of registration up to 180 days from travel will incur a fee equal to the per person deposit paid at registration.
Cancellations received between 179 and 121 days prior to departure will result in a forfeiture of 50% of the entire cost of the trip per person.
Cancellation received between 120 days prior to departure will result in 100% forfeiture of the entire cost of the trip.
TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. YOU WILL RECEIVE A QUOTE FOR TRAVEL INSURANCE AFTER REGISTRATION IS COMPLETED.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE ANSWER IS TRAVEL CANCELS A PROGRAM?
If a trip is canceled by The Answer Is Travel before the date of departure for reasons other than Force Majeure and the cancellation is not caused by your fault or negligence, you will have the choice of accepting on the set options from TAIT:
i) transfer to another date of the same itinerary, if available.
ii.) book another trip of equal or greater value, if available (you will be responsible for paying any difference in price)
iii. book another trip of lesser value, if available (with a refund payable to you for the difference in price) or
Iv. receive a full refund

WHAT IS YOUR DEPOSIT POLICY?
All international programs have a $500 per person deposit at registration.
All domestic programs deposits range between $150-$300 per per person at registration.

are flights included?
Flights are not included in our program pricing. We do not offer group airfare, however, we can provide guidance on which flights to purchase.
WHEN SHOULD I PURCHASE FLIGHTS?
Flights become available 6 to 11 months prior to departure dates. It is highly recommended that you purchase refundable airfare. It is advised to wait until 120 days or closer to travel to purchase airfare as that is when our traveler list is typically finalized. Finally, it's highly encouraged to purchase travel insurance, with the optional cancel-for-any-reason coverage to help recoup any loss fees if the event a program is rescheduled.
HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU BEEN PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL TRAVEL EXPERIENCES?
Our founder, Brandi, a fellow homeschooling mom, was looking for a way to complement her son's home education. After realizing there were no educational travel companies servicing homeschoolers, she founded The Answer Is Travel. Just over a half-a-decade later, TAIT has created educational travel experiences for over 800 homeschoolers, from local museums to far off destinations in villages of other countries.
What type of homeschooler would benefit from one of your programs?
The programs are created for homeschooling families who are outside of the box thinkers. They are families who appreciate an opportunity to expand their children's horizons outside of the classroom walls. Generally, we see families who are not interested in the top-touristy destinations, are interested in a hands-on approach to education, are open and wiling to explore new & different cultures, people & ways-of-life. We often have families with 3 to 5 members traveling with us. Mom, dad, little sibling, big sibling, granny, aunt, friend, cousin, adopted family. We welcome all.
I have a traditional student, can we experience one of your programs?
Absolutely. If your traditional student is able to spend time away from the classroom, we encourage them to experience one of our programs.
I no longer homeschool my children, can we join in on a program, too?
Yep. Once a homeschooler, always a homeschooler is our motto here.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A PROGRAM?
Generally, 120 days from travel is when you will start to hear more frequently from our team to prepare you for your upcoming program.
I AM NOT ABLE TO TRAVEL DURING A PROGRAM'S PUBLISHED DATES. DO YOU ANTICIPATE OFFERING THE PROGRAM AGAIN?
We are currently working on a select few signature programs that will be offered each year, during the same time frame to allow for families to plan ahead. The program will consistent of domestic programs that have been part of our programs from the very beginning. International travel experiences are harder to anticipate future travel opportunities. We suggest registering for a program as soon as you know you are able to attend as spots fill quickly and we cannot guarantee a program will continuously run year-after-year.
DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE GROUP TRAVEL FOR HOMESCHOOLERS?
We do. If you are able to get a minimum of 10 people to register for a program, we can create a private group program.
i am not interested in all of the activities listed in a program. can i choose to skip that part? is there a refund?
Generally, our domestic programs allow for travelers to venture off on their own if they choose to do so with the understanding that travelers are responsible for informing the group leader of their plans, are responsible for getting to/from the side activities are not entitled to a refund for any unused portions of the program.
Our international travel experiences are designed to have more flexibility to allow for travelers to venture on their own after the days activities. This creates an opportunity to allow families to partake in structure hands-on learning opportunities, with built in time to explore during free time. We do encourage all families partake in activities in our programs; if you'd like more time to venture off further, we encourage you to utilize the option to extend your trip.

do i need to be vaccinated to travel with the answer is travel?
We do not require vaccinations to partake in any of our programs other than what is required by local governing authorities. This may include vaccinations, visa applications, passports among other requirements. See our terms & conditions for full details.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE A REFUND DUE?
Refunds may take up to 45 business days to process from written request for refund received.
wHAT IS CONTINUED CONNECTIONS?
Continued connections is our effort to not only encourage community building prior to experiencing our programs, but most importantly, continuing to foster the relationships gained after our program ends. It's not uncommon for travelers to join future programs based on friendships gained on one of our programs.
